Advanced Quantum Mechanics and Electrodynamics (W08/09)
Höhere Quantentheorie und Elektrodynamik (4-std.)
Prof. G. BurkardDie Vorlesung behandelt weiterführende Themen der Quantentheorie und Elektrodynamik. Mit der Quantisierung des elektromagnetischen Feldes werden diese beiden Gebiete schliesslich zusammengeführt, und es wird die Grundlage für die Quantenelektrodynamik gelegt. Teil I (nichtrelativistische Quantentheorie): Spin, Addition von Drehimpulsen, zeitabhängige Störungstheorie, Streutheorie, Vielteilchensysteme, Variationsmethoden, Hartree-Fock. Teil II (Elektrodynamik): Spezielle Relativitätstheorie, Maxwell-Gleichungen in kovarianter Form, Lagrange- und Hamilton-Formalismus für Felder. Teil III (relativistische Quantentheorie): Dirac-Gleichung, Quantisierung des elektromagnetischen Feldes, Kopplung von Licht und Materie.
